Back at the campground (which much to our surprise we had entirely to ourselves) we relaxed and listed to the Aces game on the radio (and heard their heartbreaking loss in game 7 of the Kelly Cup finals).

Finally, the sun disappeared behind the mountains. To provide some perspective on how it was dusky, but not really dark at all at midnight, here's a view of our campsite.

Ok, stupid question. How did it get so dark all of a sudden?

It's just that we were taking the picture away from where there was light. It flashed on our faces b/c the trees behind us made it pretty shady. It still wasn't actually dark.


 

Successful clammers! We caught our limit and were ready to clean up and head home to Anchorage.
